Cod Liver Oil for Eczema

All of the Green Pasture products are exceptional. The ones that they promote for children (and many of our adult customers use it too) are the coconut oil infusions, which come in both a natural and some natural sweeter flavours, thus more palatable. I like to use these in smoothies, and some clients are very happy to take it just by the spoonful.

Being fermented, the liquid oils have a fishy odour, which is masked a little in the capsules, and reduced immensely in the coconut oil infusion. The Butter-oil - Cod-liver oil blend in a gel or capsule, is their flagship product. This is probably due to the fact that the oil soluble vitamins benefit from the additional oil in the butter, which also contains some vitamin K. For the same reason, the coconut oil infusion is enhanced in terms of assimilating the oil-soluble vitamins; it has the additional fatty oils of the coconut and butter-oil in addition to the cod liver oil. The only possible hiccup is that Green Pasture have stopped making them in the smaller size (of which we only have some cinnamon flavour left, not always most palatable to children). So if you take one of the other flavours it is great for the family to use. Dosage is half a tablespoon daily, or more. For a child without any problems, you could halve that, but given the chronic eczema and severity of itching that you describe, I would start her on that dose until you notice some improvement.

If you prefer to try with the regular liquid or capsules, make sure that it is taken at a mealtime where there is some butter or other fat in the food. We have just received a shipment of liquids with Orange and Mint flavour - with all the recent holidays I haven't popped them into the online shop as yet. As with the other recommendation, start with a full dose rather than a maintenance dose for children.
