Hi there, is it okay to give silicea to a cat with gingivitis and loose teeth?

Hi Saskia

Silicea will be fine for your cat; the chances are that it can possibly help cleanse and strengthen the connective tissues. However, if your cat's teeth are so loose and far gone that they are likely to fall out, it may not help save the teeth. Unfortunately, once the bone and tooth sockets are too compromised, it's a bit like planting a deep-rooted plant into shallow soil. For some further info about Silicea's action, you can take a look at this blog post .

If it's still at some kind of pre-extraction "wait-and-see" phase and you want tissue salts for addressing the gingivitis, you could work with Immuno Synergy which has a really good blend (including Silicea) to help address the inflammation.

I wish you and your kitty all the best,
Alison
