Paw licking 11 year old Daschund was created by Yvette
Hi there

I need some help with my 11 year old Daschund. He keeps licking his one paw. It has been licked raw before. I suspect it must be because of an allergy, because the little paw is also swollen. It has happened before with both front paws, though it became better when I supplemented with evening primrose oil. This time though it does not seem to help.

He has been wearing a cone around his head for so long now. I really feel sorry for him. We take it off when he eats. But the moment he stops eating, he goes for his paw. I also notice him scratching a lot on his ears and shaking his head sometimes. His skin also seems to be very oily lately.

Now I'm not sure if I should treat for skin issues or allergies? I hope you might be able to direct me, please.

Also. Once I have the tissue salts, how do I give it to my dog? He is quite difficult when it comes to meds

Thank you very much

Dear Yvette

Many thanks for your post about your Dachshund. We would suggest nos 3, 4, 9 and 12 which are all combined in full strength in the Immuno Synergy . No 3 for wound healing, 4 for inflammation, 9 for allergies and 12 for connective tissue support and repair. If you think this might also be stress related we suggest the Rescue Synergy would be beneficial. If the condition persists, you may wish to add No 7, Kali Sulph .

Our salts are very tasty and in fact my dogs come running for them and eat them out of my hand. Alternatively, the tablets are easily crushed and you can mix them with their soft food or pop it on their tongue.

We would suggest a minimum of 2 tablets twice daily of the Immuno (and Rescue if required). You can try adding an additional one of the Immuno if you notice him trying to get to his paws or other obvious signs of discomfort as often as required. If you are applying ointment to the area, you may wish to crush one tablet and add this to the ointment application.

Please let us know how you get along.

Best wishes
Cindi
