Quitting smoking support? was created by Olga Bogdan
Dear Alison,

I have struggled to quit - and stay quit! - for a couple of years now, but hey... I’m about to give it another go. Feels like I need all the help I can get, i.e., ALL tissue salts, but would prefer to use a few individual salts rather than a combination. at least at the start, just to help me recalibrate, draw some new boundaries and heal.

Problem is, my shortlist is still rather long: Nat Mur (sadness and grief), Kali Mur (my poor lungs), Nat Phos (alkalising), Nat Sulph (liver toxicity) and Mag Phos (to relax... seems to work better for me than Kali Phos), Silica (courage and backbone; history of going back to that which harms).

Your insight and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Olga

Dear Olga

It is such a challenging journey to quit smoking - well done for making this decision.

The tissue salts you propose are all are relevant for the reasons you state, but if you only want a few individual salts, I suggest you go with the Mag Phos, Silicea, Kali Mur and Nat Mur. Add the detox ones after you begin healing the stress and grief part of the equation.

Silicea is excellent for cleansing and strengthening the connective tissues, so you are starting the process if you include it at the outset. It's also one of the three great de-stressing tissue salts.

If you have the resources to attend the 'Allan Carr Easyway to Stop Smoking' clinic, you may find this one-day seminar incredibly helpful to start you on the road. I'm not sure what their programs are like at the moment during Covid times, but many people report excellent outcomes.

Wishing you all the very best on this journey,
Alison
